Chaos Tome is a high-variance flex Tome. Each upgrade selects one eligible stat at random and applies a bonus to that stat for the current run. It does not reroll your whole build, and you cannot pick the result. Use it after your build already has the guaranteed Damage, Attack Speed, Crit, survivability or economy stats it needs.
How the Random Mechanic Works

How to Unlock Chaos Tome
Start a Tier 3 run.Lower tiers do not satisfy the unlock requirement.
Find every Charge Shrine in Stage 1.Use the minimap and shrine counter, and sweep unexplored edges before leaving.
Fully charge each shrine without leaving its zone.Stepping outside during the charge breaks that attempt, so clear nearby threats first.
Repeat in Stages 2 and 3 in the same run.The requirement covers all three stages, not just one stage with every shrine found.
Finish the final required charge.Chaos Tome then enters the game's normal unlock progression.
Wrench speeds Shrine charging and improves Shrine rewards. Beacon adds Charge Shrines to later stages, so taking it can increase the number you must find and charge during this unlock attempt.
Best Builds for Chaos Tome
Chaos Tome is strongest when many different results are useful. It is weaker when a challenge or speedrun depends on hitting one exact stat on schedule.

More capacity does not mean Chaos Tome is automatically the next pick. A reliable dedicated Tome is usually better when your build still lacks a required breakpoint.

- Leaving the charge circle: clear enemies first and stay inside until the shrine completes.
- Missing one shrine: check the map and stage counter before entering the portal.
- Doing the route below Tier 3: the complete three-stage route must be done at Tier 3.
- Using the old reroll requirement: rerolling upgrade offers 100 times is not the current unlock.
- Building around one hoped-for roll: Chaos Tome provides variance, not a targeted substitute for a dedicated Tome.
