Hats are purely cosmetic items that let you customize your character's appearance. They were introduced in the v1.0.64 "H A T S" update on January 25, 2026, which added 21 new hats. The Wizard's Hat was added earlier in the 2025 Christmas patch.
Each hat is unlocked by completing a specific achievement or challenge. Some are easy to obtain, while others require significant time investment or mastery of specific characters and weapons.
Hats are purely cosmetic and provide no gameplay benefits. Focus on unlocking them at your own pace while enjoying the game!
These hats can be unlocked relatively quickly with minimal effort.
Find the hidden frogs on Forest Stage 1.
Explore the map thoroughly to find the secret frog location.

Blow up 50 microwaves total.
Microwaves appear as destructible objects on various stages.
These hats require specific character builds or completing moderate challenges.
As Ninja, complete Desert Stage 1 with at least 2 Boss Curse shrines activated.

As Birdo, kill 1000 enemies using Mines while flying.

As Calcium, finish the final boss fight on Graveyard in under 60 seconds.

This takes a LONG time. Progress accumulates across all runs.
As Amog, defeat Desert 3 final boss with 8 Moldy Cheese and 1 Snek in inventory.
🌸 Amog RequiredThe rarest and most prestigious hats. Only the most dedicated players will unlock these!
Get a gold star (Rank 100) on every character in the game.
This requires maxing out ALL characters. Expect 100+ hours of gameplay.
Using Vlad with Pot (stainless steel), upgrade any weapon above level 40.
🧛 Vlad RequiredThe Pot (stainless steel) can be found by opening every chest and pot in the first crypt on Graveyard before Spooky Steve appears.
Check your Steam Achievements to track progress on hat unlocks. Many hat challenges are tied directly to achievements.
If you ever lose your save file, use the new Save Recovery Feature to restore progress based on your Steam achievements.
