Fog of War & Visuals Update
The game now supports running in DX12 mode, though DX11 remains the recommended option. If you're experiencing crashes, DX12 might help stabilize performance. A Steam popup will appear when launching the game, allowing you to choose your rendering mode. If the popup doesn't appear, try restarting Steam.
Note: When running in DX12, certain graphical features will be disabled or broken, including Ambient Occlusion and Color Grading.
A new particle and effects opacity slider has been added to Visual settings. Auto opacity is enabled by default and should work well for most players. This feature addresses the infamous "late-game light show" that previously required wearing sunglasses.
While transparent projectiles are slightly more demanding on your GPU, performance impact is negligible until extreme late-game scenarios. Once your screen is completely covered with massive projectiles, you can experiment with full transparency for better FPS, or set to 0 transparency for absolute best performance.
The most significant addition in this patch is a full map with fog of war functionality. You can now track exactly where you've explored during each run, making navigation and area discovery much more intuitive. Check out our Beginners Guide for strategies on efficient map exploration.
"It would be nice to buff all other characters to become as strong as Robinette, but that is not something I can do overnight, so a short-term solution was to just nerf her passive late-game for now. I'd like to eventually get in per-character leaderboards too, which also kinda solves this problem."
These weapons benefit greatly from the new item changes. View our complete weapons database for detailed stats.
"Yep that's it for now. Thanks for playing and for all the feedback. I realize there's still a lot of balancing changes that people wanna see, but keep in mind I'm just a single person working on this, so I can only do so much every week. Next week I might try to do some new content for Halloween, if I can cook something up in time."

The Robinette nerf combined with buffs to Noelle, Fox, and Bush should significantly diversify leaderboard rankings. Noelle's new size scaling and frozen enemy damage multiplier make her a top-tier contender for high-curse runs. Check the updated character tier list for current meta rankings.
The particle opacity controls address one of the community's most frequent complaints about late-game playability. Combined with fog of war mapping, these changes make extended runs much more enjoyable. New players should check our beginner's guide for essential tips.
Brass Knuckles and Cursed Doll buffs open up new stacking strategies. Bush's crit improvements make precision builds more viable with Precision Tome. Calcium's simplified but stronger passive makes speed builds more accessible. Explore all character builds for synergy ideas.
