These achievements represent the absolute peak of Megabonk mastery. Most require perfect execution, extensive game knowledge, specific builds, and significant time investment. The rarest achievements have under 2% completion rates. Only attempt these if you've mastered all other achievement categories and have unlocked Banish (40 quests) and Toggler (purchase 40 unlocks, then buy it for 4 Silver) to control your item pools.

Holy Book

Kill a Stage Boss without taking any damage during the entire run

Difficulty:

⚠️ Extreme Difficulty
Complete an entire 10-minute stage without taking ANY damage - even a single touch fails the run. Shield, Mirror, and evasion do NOT count - you must avoid all enemy contact completely. This is easier to unlock via the "Fragile" challenge mode which makes this automatic.
🎯 Recommended Approach
  • Use Calcium for his speed and damage scaling while moving
  • Forest Tier 1 is easiest - simpler enemies and terrain
  • Stack Agility Tome for movement speed
  • Use Aura for 360° automatic damage - no aiming required
  • Alternatively: Play "Fragile" challenge mode to unlock automatically
💡 Expert Strategy
Keep moving in large circles constantly. Never stand still. Practice movement patterns for 10+ runs before attempting seriously. The Fragile challenge is the smartest way to unlock this without 40+ attempts.

Hero Sword

Defeat a Stage Boss without picking up any items, powerups or using shrines

🎯 Requirements
  • NO items from chests (they auto-open on contact!)
  • NO power-ups from enemies or pots
  • NO shrine usage (charge shrines, boss curse, etc.)
  • Only weapons and tomes from level-ups allowed
  • Pots for XP are allowed - just avoid the power-ups
💡 Essential Pre-requisites
DO NOT ATTEMPT until you have: All 4 weapon slots, all 4 tome slots, Banish (40 quests), all reroll unlocks, and Toggler to disable unwanted items. Use Megachad or Tony McZoom. Start boss fight with 2 minutes remaining for enough time to kill it.
🔧 Recommended Build
Weapons: Aura (essential), Aegis, Firewalker, and high-DPS option. Tomes: XP Tome (mandatory), Damage, Cooldown, Attack Speed. Find the boss location first, then farm away from chests and power-ups. Be extremely careful of knockback pushing you into items.

Easier than Holy Book since you only need 2 consecutive minutes without damage (not the entire run). Use high mobility characters like Calcium or Tony McZoom. Early game (minutes 0-2) is easiest when enemy density is low. Stack Agility Tome and keep moving.

Survive the Final Swarm for 6 minutes

  • 150%+ Lifesteal - Essential for survival (use Bloody Tome)
  • Aura - Continuous damage while moving
  • Aegis + Shield Tome - Damage mitigation
  • Max HP 500+ - Chonkplate + HP boosts
  • High Size - Aura/Firewalker coverage
💡 Survival Strategy
Use Monke, Sir Oofie, or Dicehead. Weapons: Banana/Aura/Firewalker. Get to level 200+ before entering boss portal on Stage 3. Stand NEAR the portal but don't activate - farm Final Swarm ghosts. After 6 minutes, stronger ghosts appear, so timing is crucial. Keep moving in circles constantly.
🎯 Community Proven Build
Recent patch buffed Final Swarm difficulty. Proven setup: Sir Oofie with Sword/Aura/Aegis. Tomes: Cooldown, Lifesteal, Size, HP. Farm to 600+ HP before attempting. Circle map edges continuously. Lifesteal at 100%+ lets you tank damage indefinitely.

Survive the Final Swarm for 2 minutes

💡 Strategy
Much easier than Soul Harvester. Use defensive build with Aegis, high evasion, and lifesteal. Aura + Size Tome provides passive damage while you focus on dodging. Keep moving and avoid getting cornered. Good entry-level Final Swarm achievement.

Survive the Final Swarm for 60 seconds

💡 Strategy
Most players unlock this naturally. Just survive 1 minute after the timer hits zero. Any decent build with mobility will achieve this. Good practice for longer Final Swarm achievements.

  • First unlock Cursed Tome (beat boss in 5 minutes)
  • Use Tony McZoom for maximum speed
  • Max XP Tome immediately - this is mandatory
  • Use Toggler to disable all unnecessary tomes/weapons
  • Focus ONLY on XP gain and Cursed Tome upgrades
💡 Execution
This is a pure speedrun. Toggle off everything except XP Tome, Cursed Tome, and one good weapon. Farm XP aggressively. Use rerolls to force Cursed Tome level-ups. Requires 20 tome upgrades in 10 minutes - very tight timing.

Defeat a Stage Boss in under 30 seconds

💡 Strategy
Usually unlocks naturally with strong builds. Stack Damage Tome, use Dice or high burst weapons, and enter boss at high level. Timer starts when boss spawns, not when you enter the area. Focus all damage on boss immediately.

Kill 100 cactus enemies with Thorns damage

⚠️ THE RAREST ACHIEVEMENT
Only 0.56% of players have this - the absolute hardest in Megabonk. Requires multiple layers of RNG: cactus enemies must spawn (rare), you need Thorns Tome upgrades (Athena Tome Level 9), and you must let cactuses HIT you so thorns kill them. Use "Hyper" challenge on Desert for more spawns.
🎯 Required Setup
  • Athena - +2 Thorns per level (unlock Thorns Tome Lv 9)
  • Aegis weapon - Block attacks for thorns damage
  • Desert stages - Only place cactus spawn
  • Stack Thorns items - Spiky Shield, Quin's Mask
  • Let cactuses HIT you to trigger thorns retaliation
💡 Grinding Strategy
Play Desert Tier 1 "Hyper" challenge for doubled enemy spawns. Requires 20-50+ runs due to RNG. Hug cactuses to let them hit you while thorns kills them. Track progress carefully - kills only count if thorns damage is the killing blow. Extreme patience required.

Chaos Tome

Charge every Charge Shrine on a Tier 3 run across all 3 stages without leaving the charge zone

⚠️ Precision Challenge
Complete Tier 3 (all 3 stages) and charge EVERY charge shrine (15 per stage, 45 total) without leaving the charge circle even for a SPLIT SECOND. Leaving the zone even once voids the entire run. Knockback can ruin attempts. No counter to track progress - must count manually.
🎯 Recommended Setup
  • Tony McZoom or Calcium - High speed for map coverage
  • Weapons: Blood Magic, Aegis, Lightning Staff
  • Tomes: Quantity, Cooldown, Agility, XP
  • Must have enough damage to clear while stationary
  • Check pause menu shrine count (adds +3 per stage)
💡 Critical Tips
Map has 15 charge shrines per stage. Pause menu shows shrine count (includes 3 non-charge shrines + Greed Shrines). Move carefully around map scanning for hidden shrines behind trees. Avoid charging during mini-boss spawns or swarm events. Exit zone knockback = instant fail. Count shrines manually with screenshots.

💡 Elite Mastery Tips

🔧 Master the Meta First
Don't attempt extreme achievements until you have: Banish (40 quests), Toggler (purchase 40 unlocks, then buy it for 4 Silver), all weapon/tome slots, and reroll unlocks. These are MANDATORY for controlling your builds and having any chance at success.
🎯 Use Challenge Modes Strategically
Holy Book is much easier via "Fragile" challenge mode (automatic unlock). Cactus requires "Hyper" challenge on Desert for double enemy spawns. Many achievements have smart shortcuts - find them before grinding.
📊 The Holy Trinity Build
XP Tome + Curse Tome + Luck Tome creates an explosive power feedback loop. Combine with Aura or Dice weapons. This is the meta build that makes most achievements significantly easier. Master this combination first.
🧠 Mental Preparation
Cactus and Chaos Tome require 20-50+ attempts due to RNG and precision requirements. Take breaks between runs. Track your progress externally. Don't tilt - these achievements are designed to be brutally difficult.
