Desert Outlaw - Dexecutioner Unlock
Bandit is a hidden boss that roams the Desert region. Unlike regular bosses that appear at set time intervals, you must actively search for him.
Complete the Forest region and unlock access to the Desert biome. Bandit will NOT appear until you've entered the Desert area.
Bandit spawns at a random location in the Desert. Move through different areas of the map to trigger his appearance. Look for visual cues like dust clouds or tumbleweeds moving unusually.
When Bandit is nearby, you'll hear distinctive gunshot sounds and a western-style whistle. Turn your audio up to catch these hints!
Once you spot Bandit, don't rush in! Make sure you have good weapons upgraded, health at maximum, and ideally some defensive items like Mirror or Kevin.
Behavior: Bandit fires rapid-fire revolver shots in your direction with pinpoint accuracy.
Damage: Medium per shot, but fires 6 shots in quick succession.
Counter: Use zig-zag movement patterns. Don't run in straight lines! His shots travel in straight paths, so erratic movement throws off his aim.
Behavior: Bandit teleports behind you in a cloud of dust and attempts a melee dagger strike.
Damage: Very high (can one-shot low HP characters).
Counter: Watch for the dust cloud animation that appears before he teleports. Immediately dash away when you see it. Aegis shield can block this attack.
Behavior: Throws his signature dual-blade weapon that boomerangs back to him, hitting you twice.
Damage: High on each pass (outbound and return).
Counter: The Dexecutioner follows a predictable arc. Move perpendicular to its path rather than away from it. Stay mobile after the first pass to avoid the return trajectory.
Behavior: Creates a large sandstorm that obscures vision and spawns cactus enemies.
Damage: Low damage over time, but reduces visibility significantly.
Counter: Don't panic! The sandstorm has a fixed duration. Focus on dodging Bandit's other attacks rather than fighting the cactus minions. AOE weapons like Aura automatically clear the cacti.
Bandit relies primarily on Quickdraw Shots and occasional Dexecutioner Throws. He moves slowly and predictably. Focus on learning his shot patterns and positioning yourself to minimize hits.
Strategy: Maintain medium distance. Too close and he'll use Desert Dash; too far and his shots become harder to dodge.
Bandit becomes more aggressive, using Desert Dash frequently and summoning Sandstorms. His movement speed increases significantly.
Strategy: This is the most dangerous phase. Keep moving constantly and use AOE weapons to clear sandstorm minions automatically. Save your dash/evasion ability for Desert Dash teleports.
Bandit enters "Last Stand" mode with a golden aura. All his attacks become faster and he chains attacks together more rapidly. He also gains brief invincibility frames between attack chains.
Strategy: Patience is key! Don't over-commit to attacking during his invincibility frames. Wait for openings between his attack chains and burst him down with high-damage abilities.
Why: High mobility with Firestaff's range allows you to kite Bandit effectively. Luck blessing helps with critical dodges.
Strategy: Keep your distance and use hit-and-run tactics. Your speed advantage makes dodging Desert Dash much easier.
Why: High armor makes you tanky enough to survive Bandit's burst damage. Sword provides good melee range.
Strategy: Face-tank his Quickdraw Shots and counter-attack. Use Aegis shield if you have it to block Desert Dash.
Why: Evasion passive can trigger on Bandit's attacks, and the execution mechanic works on his Desert Dash if you evade it.
Strategy: Play aggressively and rely on your evasion. Time your dodges to trigger executions for massive damage.
Why: Revolver has long range and high crit rate, perfect for a shootout. Crits can interrupt Bandit's attacks.
Strategy: Keep maximum distance and focus on landing critical hits. Your Revolver outranges his pistol.
Why: Speed demon build allows you to outrun all of Bandit's attacks if you maintain high velocity.
Strategy: Build speed early and never stop moving. Your damage scales with speed, so constant motion helps both offense and defense.
Why: Aura can damage Bandit passively, but limited mobility makes you vulnerable to Desert Dash.
Strategy: Only recommended if you have Kevin + Mirror combo for immortality. Otherwise, you'll struggle with his mobility.
Perfect for a ranged shootout. High fire rate and crit chance means you can out-DPS Bandit at distance.
Ultra-fast attack speed lets you burst him down quickly. Execute mechanic synergizes with evasion-based playstyle.
Can block Desert Dash completely, nullifying his most dangerous attack. Shockwave counter-damage is bonus DPS.
Long range and projectile speed make it easy to hit Bandit while kiting. Fire DoT helps during sandstorm phase.
Passive damage is helpful but requires you to get close. Good for Sir Oofie tank builds only.
Boomerang mechanic can hit Bandit multiple times per throw, but requires precise positioning during his mobile phases.
