Noelle's current passive was reworked in V1.0.17 and adjusted again in the Spooky Update:
- +0.75% Size per character level: increases Frostwalker coverage and other size-scaling effects.
- +1.5% damage per frozen enemy: each enemy currently frozen adds to Noelle's damage multiplier.
- Example: 20 frozen enemies give a 1.30x multiplier; 50 frozen enemies give 1.75x.
- Former mechanic: Noelle no longer gains Duration per level. Older guides describing +1% Duration are outdated.

- Cooldown Tome — improves field uptime and control consistency
- Ice Cube / Ice Crystal — additional freeze application
- Damage and Quantity — convert control into faster clears
2. 🌨️ Defensive Control
Use Size and Cooldown first, then add movement and defensive tools. This is safer when enemy density or Curse makes close positioning dangerous.

Level safely, prioritize Size and keep moving so Frostwalker touches as many enemies as possible.
5–15 Minutes: Freeze Packs
Add Cooldown and extra freeze sources. The passive becomes stronger when you hold many enemies frozen simultaneously.
15–30 Minutes: Convert Control into Damage
Once coverage is stable, add Damage and Quantity. Do not overinvest in Duration at the expense of Size or kill speed.
30+ Minutes: Manage CC Limits
Late Final Swarm enemies gradually become harder to freeze, so retain direct damage and survivability instead of relying on permanent crowd control.

✅ Current-version priorities
- Size first: More coverage means more simultaneous frozen enemies and a larger multiplier.
- Keep enemies grouped: Black Hole and controlled pathing help maintain frozen-enemy stacks.
- Add Duration selectively: It helps freeze uptime but does not grow from Enduring anymore.
- Bring boss damage: The passive is weaker when few targets can be frozen.
❌ Avoid outdated advice
- Do not calculate +1% Duration per level; that was replaced in V1.0.17.
- Do not use the old 2% damage-per-frozen-enemy value; the current value is 1.5%.
- Do not assume crowd control remains unlimited deep into Final Swarm.
🔓 How to Unlock Noelle
Unlock Requirement: Use Microwave to Duplicate Ice Crystal 3 Times in a Row
This is one of the most complex unlock sequences in MegaBonk. You must obtain multiple prerequisite items, then execute a precise duplication sequence.
Prerequisite Step: Unlock Frostwalker
Before you can unlock Noelle, you must first unlock Frostwalker weapon:
- Find Ice Cube (Legendary item)
- Use Ice Cube to freeze 1,000 enemies
- Frostwalker unlocks and costs 2 Silver to purchase
- This step can take 1-3 runs depending on luck
Prerequisite Step: Unlock Ice Crystal
After unlocking Frostwalker, unlock Ice Crystal item:
- Use Frostwalker weapon in a run
- Get 50 kills with Frostwalker
- Ice Crystal becomes available in item pools
- Ice Crystal is Common rarity - easier to find than Ice Cube
Step 1: Find Microwave
Locate a Microwave on the map:
- Appears randomly in Forest or Desert biomes
- Marked with green diamond on minimap
- Comes in 4 rarities: Common (3 uses), Rare (2 uses), Epic (2 uses), Legendary (1 use)
- Requires gold to activate
- Don't use it yet - save it for Ice Crystal
Step 2: Find Ice Crystal
Locate Ice Crystal in the same run:
- Appears in shops, level-up rewards, or drops
- Common rarity - relatively easy to find
- Once you have both Microwave and Ice Crystal, prepare for duplication
- Make sure you have enough gold for 3 Microwave uses
Step 3: Execute Triple Duplication
This is the precise sequence - must be done correctly:
- Duplication 1: Use Microwave on Ice Crystal → Now have 2x Ice Crystal
- Duplication 2: Use Microwave on Ice Crystal again → Now have 3x Ice Crystal
- Duplication 3: Use Microwave on Ice Crystal final time → Now have 4x Ice Crystal
- CRITICAL: Don't use Microwave on ANY other item between these duplications
- If you duplicate something else, the counter resets - start over
Step 4: Purchase Noelle
After successful duplication sequence:
- Notification appears: Noelle unlocked
- Noelle becomes purchasable in Unlocks menu
- Costs Silver currency (check menu for exact amount)
- Permanently available for all future runs
- Prioritize unlocking Frostwalker and Ice Crystal first - may take multiple runs
- When attempting Noelle unlock, play conservatively to ensure long run
- Mark Microwave location mentally - don't approach until you have Ice Crystal
- Use Common Microwave (3 uses) if possible - gives buffer for mistakes
- Track duplication count: say "1... 2... 3!" aloud to avoid confusion
- This unlock typically requires 5-10 total runs including prerequisites
