Forest Tier 2 Enhanced Boss - The Real Challenge Begins
Welcome to Tier 2 - where Megabonk stops being friendly. Chadbark is Lil Bark's bigger, badder brother, and he doesn't mess around. This is where the game shifts from "lighthearted bonking" to a true survival challenge. The boss health pool jumps from approximately ~100K in Tier 1 to a staggering ~500K in Tier 2 - that's roughly a 5x increase in durability!
Chadbark serves as the real DPS check in Megabonk. If your build isn't optimized, you'll struggle to kill him before the Final Swarm overwhelms you. This fight teaches you the importance of focused weapon investment, smart tome choices (hello, Holy Trinity!), and proper timing. Master Chadbark, and you'll unlock the ability to teleport to Stage 2, opening up new progression paths and eventually access to the Desert biome.
Many players report that Tier 2 feels like hitting a brick wall. The jump from 100K to 500K HP isn't just about numbers - it's a fundamental shift in how you need to approach the game. You can't rely on luck anymore. Focused builds, proper tome selection, and smart stat priorities become mandatory.
Players frequently struggle here because they spread upgrades across too many weapons. For Chadbark, you need to go "deep not wide" - max out 1-2 weapons rather than having 3-4 mediocre ones.
To unlock Tier 2, you must defeat Lil Bark, the Tier 1 boss in the Forest (or the Desert equivalent). Tier 1 consists of a single stage - after defeating the boss, the Final Swarm begins immediately. Successfully surviving Tier 1 permanently unlocks Tier 2 for that biome.
Once you've unlocked Tier 2, you can select it from the difficulty menu before starting your next run. Tier 2 becomes permanently available for that biome (Forest or Desert) once unlocked. Remember: Tier 2 has TWO stages instead of Tier 1's single stage.
Before attempting Chadbark, make sure your build has strong DPS potential. Prioritize: Attack Speed Tome, Damage Tome, or the Holy Trinity (Curse + XP + Luck). Don't enter Tier 2 with a pure tank build - you need to kill fast.
Summon Chadbark with about 1 minute left on the clock. This gives you enough time to kill him before the Final Swarm becomes unmanageable. Black Ghosts spawn at -1:00, so you want the boss dead before then!
Chadbark uses similar attacks to Lil Bark, but everything is faster, stronger, and more numerous. Here's what to expect:
The familiar red projectiles return, but now they fire 2-3x faster and with greater tracking. The projectile density is significantly higher, creating a true bullet-hell environment. Each sphere also deals more damage than in Tier 1.
Maintain aggressive circular movement - wider orbits than Tier 1. Movement speed upgrades are now mandatory, not optional. Consider taking the Speed Boots item if offered. Don't try to face-tank anything.
At 50% and 25% HP thresholds, Chadbark triggers a devastating projectile storm - filling the entire screen with red spheres. This phase lasts 5-10 seconds and is designed to punish players with poor mobility or insufficient survivability stats.
When you see HP threshold warnings, prepare for the storm. Use invincibility shrines if available. If you have lifesteal or shields, this is when they matter most. Don't panic - keep moving, don't stop attacking.
Chadbark occasionally creates hazard zones on the ground that deal continuous damage. These zones last longer in Tier 2 and can overlap, restricting your movement options significantly.
Stay aware of the arena. Don't let hazard zones box you into corners. If you get surrounded, use your best movement ability to escape rather than trying to tank through the damage.
The biggest challenge isn't Chadbark's attacks - it's killing him fast enough. With 500K HP and the Final Swarm at 0:00, you're racing against time. If you don't have sufficient DPS, you'll die to the swarm, not the boss.
This is why build optimization matters. Focus 100% of your upgrades into 1-2 weapons max. Take damage-boosting tomes. Use the Magnet shrine before engaging to quickly level up. Every second of uptime matters - stay close and keep attacking!
These builds are specifically designed to handle the DPS requirements of Tier 2 bosses:
Difficulty: Medium | Meta Build
This is THE meta build for Tier 2. The Holy Trinity creates a feedback loop that lets you rapidly outscale the difficulty. Take Greed Shrines too - the increased difficulty actually HELPS you with this combo!
Difficulty: Easy | DPS Focus
CL4NK's crit passive makes him arguably the best character for Tier 2 DPS checks. Max out your Revolver first, then add Katana only if you get it early. Attack Speed Tome is mandatory.
Difficulty: Easy | Walking Death
The "Walking Apocalypse" build works well in Tier 2 with Megachad or Sir Oofie. Stack Aura size and just walk in circles near Chadbark. Your aura does the work. Less mechanical skill required but needs specific items.
Use the first 5 minutes to maximize your power:
The sweet spot for summoning Chadbark is around 1:00 remaining on the clock. This gives you enough time to kill him (usually takes 30-45 seconds with a good build) while leaving a small buffer before the Final Swarm at 0:00. If you summon earlier, you might get overwhelmed by regular enemies. If you wait too long, you'll die to Black Ghosts.
Start with your circular kiting pattern - just like Tier 1, but wider orbits and faster movement. Chadbark's projectiles are faster, so you need to stay ahead of them. Keep constant DPS pressure. Don't get greedy trying to maximize damage at the cost of taking hits. Every hit matters in Tier 2.
When Chadbark hits 50% HP, expect the projectile storm. The screen fills with red spheres. This is the panic check. Stay calm, widen your orbit even more, and DON'T STOP MOVING. If you have any defensive cooldowns or invincibility pickups, use them here. Continue attacking - you need to push through this phase quickly.
Another projectile storm triggers at 25%. This is the victory stretch. Chadbark is almost dead, but so are you if you make mistakes. Keep your movement rhythm, stay patient, and trust your build. If you've made it this far, you have the damage to win. The Final Swarm should be approaching, so finish strong!
If Chadbark isn't dead by -1:00, the Black Ghosts will push you around and kill you. Time management is as important as your DPS!
THE #1 mistake in Tier 2: spreading upgrades across 3-4 weapons. You don't have the DPS. Pick ONE primary weapon (Revolver, Katana, Aura) and max it to level 7+ before even considering a second weapon.
Curse Tome + XP Tome + Luck Tome is not optional in Tier 2. This combo is the difference between struggling and dominating. The synergy creates exponential scaling that lets you outpace the difficulty curve.
Greed Shrines increase difficulty by 5% but give gold. If you're running Curse Tome, this "downside" is actually an upside - more enemies means more XP. Always take them early game.
Movement speed is no longer optional. Take the Speed Boots item if offered. You can't kill what you can't catch, and you can't dodge what you can't outrun. Speed is life in Tier 2.
Save the Magnet (Shrine of Succ) for right before the boss fight. Activate it around 1:30-2:00 remaining to collect all the XP you've left behind, giving you 2-3 quick level ups before engaging.
Don't ignore the Mini Bosses at 7:00 and 2:00. They drop guaranteed items and significant XP. Kill them quickly, then return to farming. They're speed bumps, not walls.
While DPS is priority #1, you need SOME survivability. Invest in at least one of: HP, Lifesteal, Armor, or Shields. A dead character deals zero DPS. Find the balance.
Counterintuitively, Attack Speed is often better than raw Damage in Tier 2. More attacks means more lifesteal procs, more consistent DPS, and better overall damage output. Prioritize it.
You've conquered Chadbark and unlocked Tier 2. Now prepare for the hardest fight in the game...
